Announcing the release of West Street Stories #1, the new anthology series from West Street Enterprises. WSS #1 is a full 32 page B&W with zero ads and two full color covers. It features three brand new stories highlighting the health-filled adventures of Vita-Man, the Saga of Tom OBedlam, and introducing the strange tales of The Immortal.
Vita-Man, by Al Tudor, is a satirical work which parodies comics and society with just the right mix of action and adventure. In this issue Vita-Man faces the evil Wi Ting Ton, the Voicemeister, in a complete story called Lost & Found! This time we skewer the politically correct mania of our times. Thats why we call West Street Stories #1 The Comic Book That Looks Like America! Fans of old radio drama take note: We also pay homage to many such dramas and comedies throughout this story.
The Saga of Tom OBedlam, our second story in WSS #1, follows a simple premise: What would happen if two regular Joes put on costumes and went out into the real world to fight crime? Writer/artist Brian Dobbins reminds us that in the real world, there are real criminals, real guns and real surprises. No wonder this issues episode is entitled Serious Trouble!
We introduce a third character to West Street readers with this issue: The Immortal. Down through the centuries The Immortal has gathered tales of the unusual and the supernatural. In WSS #1 he shares one with us about a family seeking lodgings for the night in a strange inn. They get much more than ordinary shelter in Deja Vu, also written and drawn by Al Tudor.
West Street Stories #1 follows the smash success of West Street Stories #0, the companys Collectors Item Convention Issue. This issue introduced Vita-Man and the first installment of the Saga of Tom OBedlam. Issue #0 was not distributed through stores and can be obtained only from the creators themselves, at one of their regular comic convention appearances or right here at West Street s On-Line Comic Convention.
